K N Nair

K N NairK N Nair started working with Livelink 8.1.5 with a major semiconductor manufacturer in San Antonio, in 1999 October where he was responsible in porting Livelink from a troubled Windows Environment to a Sun/IPlanet 4.1 solution for around 1000 users. He was the administrator cum everything for that company, and was instrumental in creating awareness of the product among its users. He attended LAPI training in San Antonio at one of the LiveLinkUp's.

He also taught himself the Livelink Builder as part of a Livelink upgrade to ensure that existing custom OScript modules would work on the new version. He has also worked for the Fab automation group so is trained in SECS1/SECSII/GEM,PROMIS,CELLworks all well known in the semiconductor world.

His favorite programming language is Java and he also enjoys writing KSH scripts. He currently works for a major US Petroleum conglomerate as System Admin/Developer for their Livelink Installation. This is a huge installation of Livelink with almost 21000 users world wide, for which he does Third Level App Support which means everything other than User/Taxonomy administration.

Contrary to other peoples views, he has a very high regard to LAPI and its implementation, mainly because of the way it handles data structures.
