I am currently employed as an IT Systems Administrator in charge of the company's web based intranet project (Livelink - http://www.opentext.com) in all phases from the installation and configuration of the application and database servers through to the browser configuration on the clients as well as dealing with all the support issues both internal and externally. In addition I am also the lead developer / architect for several European and Global projects in a variety of technologies from VBA to PowerBuilder, C# to Lotus Notes. I have made several changes to the out of the box Livelink system, these being implemented in Javascript and Oscript (proprietary language for the application) as well as some configuration changes to the ini files. I have also produced several White Papers, Additional Modules and documentation for Livelink, much of which are available from my site http://www.greggriffiths.org/livelink/. This is a similar role to that I held at Sun Valley, where I was also involved in the development of the new configuration for all of their PC's. My specific role within this small group (about 8 people) was to ensure that the browser component is correctly configured and stable for use with web based systems and eCommerce. That has involved a lot of my time in the testing and documentation as well as the research and investigation of the NT registry and MIME types. I have also worked as a Freelance IT Consultant specialising in web related work, see my Consultancy website - Adservio Consulting. Alongside this, my final year dissertation written entirely in Perl and Javascript reproduced a Yahoo! like search engine for a specialist field, but also added several layers of management at the back end allowing the structure and presentation of the site to be altered. Apart from the standard user interface, a user could log in and update the profile on his/her site as appropriate or a named administrator could log in and alter the parameters of the system (e.g. add/move/delete a new category or site).
In addition to these I have been working with a variety of other Technologies including .Net, Visual Basic & PHP. I have also been keeping my other skill sets such up to date such as Java, SQL, OO methodology, programming in general (specifically web related) and other areas of it.
At present I am spending a lot of time working with Livelink to support the existing infrastructure and to plan future enhancements and upgrades. |
